Born in 2003, Leonardo Morosini began studying the violin at the age of 9 and subsequently continued his musical journey at the “G. Verdi” Conservatory of Music in Como under the guidance of Francesco Parrino and Gianluca Febo. In March 2023 he obtained the bachelor’s degree in violin with full marks, honors and honorable mention. From December 2024 he will divide his musical training between the Conservatory and the Academy of Pinerolo with Sonig Tchakerian.
He then has studied through masterclasses, advanced courses and private lessons with great violinists such as Ilya Gringolts (youngest winner in the history of the Paganini Prize in Genoa), Ingolf Turban, Sergey Krylov, Giulio Plotino, Felix Ayo, Roberto Baraldi (concertmaster at the Teatro “La Fenice” in Venice), Günther Sanin (concertmaster at the Arena di Verona), Luca Braga, Yulia Berinskaya… Invited by Benjamin Schmid (teacher at the prestigious “Universität Mozarteum”) he also took part in his masterclass at the “Eva Lind Musikakademie Tirol”.
Winner of the 2nd prize at the 2024 edition of the “Lombardia è musica” competition in Milan, he distinguished himself by winning prizes in other national and international competitions: Claudio Scimone International Competition 2024, “best violinist” of the “Le Altre Note” festival 2022, Moncalieri European Music Competition 2017, “Felix Mendellsohn” International Competition 2017.
As a soloist, he has performed on several occasions in the baroque repertoire together with Enrico Casazza (soloist, director and founder of the “Magnifica Comunità”) and recently he also played for the premiere of “Sensucht”, caprice for solo violin and chamber orchestra by Lorenzo Taroni.
As a lover of chamber music, he also carries out musical activities that led him, on invitation by the Director of the Como Conservatory, to perform Beethoven’s quartets as first violin at the “Teatro Sociale” in Como and at Villa Olmo. These and other musical activities have allowed him to collaborate with artists such as Kolja Blacher (former concertmaster of the Berliner Philharmoniker), Edgar Moreau, Raphael Nussbaumer, Trio Kanon, Dario Bonuccelli and Umberto Ruboni, receiving praise and recognition from various musicians such as Peter Lukas Graf, Davide Alogna, Francesco Senese and Franco Mezzena. He plays a 1760 violin by G. A. Marchi and a 2016 violin by M. Raggi.
