Danilo La Grotta
Biography

Danilo La Grotta was born in Grottaglie on August 17, 1998.

He began studying the violin at the age of 10 at the “Pignatelli” musical school in Grottaglie and in July 2017 he graduated from the “Archita” musical high school in Taranto with the score of 100 cum laude. He continued his musical studies at the “N. Piccinni” conservatory in Bari where he obtained the first level academic diploma in violin in 2020 with a score of 110 cum laude and in October 2022 the second level academic diploma with a score of 110 cum laude. He studied with the teacher Gabriella Pastore and the teachers Michele Cataldo and Carmelo Andriani. He is the winner of various first prizes in various international music competitions, among which International Music Competition “Mediterraneo 2021” of Bari, International Music Competition “Città di Sarzana” (Online edition) of Sarzana, International Music Competition “Terra degli Imperiali” of Francavilla Fontana (BRI).

And second prizes which International Music Competition “Domenico Savino” of Taranto and National Music Competition “Igor Stravinsky” of Valenzano (BA). He has participated in violin masterclasses held by M°Giovanni Angeleri, winner of the Paganini prize in 1997, Marta Vélez Pérez, Karolina Piatkowska- Nowicka, Aylen Pritchin, Anna Serova, Carmelo Andriani, Claudio Andriani, Roland Baldini, Felix Ayo, Alessandro Milani, first violin of the Rai Symphony Orchestra, Vincenzo Bolognese, first violin of the Rome Opera Theatre. On 23 February 2020, on the occasion of the CEI-Italian Episcopal Conference-Meeting on the theme: “MEDITERRANEAN FRONTIER OF PEACE”, he collaborated as a concert of the first violins with the conductor Monsignor Parisi at the Holy Mass held by the Holy Father, Pope Francis. In 2021 he won the audition as First Violin in the New Orchestra of Puglia and participated in the inaugural concert with Mozart’s Requiem performed at the Orfeo theater in Taranto in April 2022. He has collaborated with various orchestras such as the National Orchestra of the Italian Conservatories ( ONCI) with which he participates as second violin in the Concert for the inauguration of the 2022/23 school year in the presence of the President of the Republic Mattarella, with the direction of Maestro De Amicis; the ICO orchestra of Magna Grecia in Taranto with which he has collaborated in various concerts in Italy and abroad (Greece/Albania); the Tebaid Orchestra of Italy based in Massafra as first violin in a row; the Valle d’Itria Youth Orchestra with whom he recorded a CD “Yitria” and with whom he was able to collaborate with light music singers such as Ron, Fausto Leali, Luisa Corna and the tenor Aldo Caputo. With the symphony orchestra of the Bari Conservatory he has the opportunity to collaborate with various conductors such as M° Giovanni Pelliccia, Maestro Wolfgang Kurz, M° Michele Marvulli and M° Aldo Ceccato.
