A Light Course is a short course scheduled during the academic year and it consists of 8 lessons of one hours divided into 4 teaching sessions distributed over the year (October / June).
The course is dedicated to pianists (both graduates and not). The main objectives of the course are the extension of the repertoire and the preparation for major international competitions.
Dates of lessons for the Academic Year 2020/2021 will be published in October 2020.
Age limit: to apply for admission candidates must be no older than 30.
The course is open to students enrolled in the Accademia as well as to external students.
Students attending annual academic courses may also enrol in the Light Course.
Applications must reach our offices by 30 September 2020.
Preselection: together with their application form, candidates must send a CV and an audio / video file with free program.
Entrance exams for 2020/2021 will be held in October 2020.
The selection takes place in two phases:
1st STEP – together with their application form, candidates must send a CV and an audio / video file, made no earlier than 2018. The Artistic Director and M° Plano will assess the materials submitted and will make a list of candidates, who will be called for an audition at the Accademia di Musica in Pinerolo.
2nd STEP – entrance exam (by invitation of the artistic director of the Academy)
Admission exam program:
three compositions for piano of different styles, including a movement of Classical Sonata.
Candidates who are not admitted to the 2020/2021 Light Course, will be given the opportunity (at the discretion of Prof. Vacatello and the Artistic Director) to attend one (or more) masterclass held by Prof. Vacatello during the academic year.

Candidates admitted to the Light Course are considered internal students of the Accademia and are entitled to all the associated privileges (free admission to all concerts of the Concert Season, the opportunity to perform in the concerts organised by Accademia and to be recommended by the Accademia to other concert organisers, as well as free use of the concert hall to make recordings).
